IT Helpdesk Administrator

Reporting to the IT Manager the overall purpose of this role will be to provide 1st Line Support for all PC Workstations, servers and network systems.  You will receive training and ongoing support to build your levels of knowledge and skills required for the role.

Main tasks and responsibilities for the role:

  • Providing pro-active response to support queries and ensuring maintenance of IT Systems to minimise user disruption.
  • Setting up new hires with equipment and appropriate access to relevant systems
  • Implementing, installing, configuring, monitoring, trouble shooting and evaluating new and existing operating systems
  • Assisting and providing support to team colleagues on a variety of IT projects as required
  • Creating and maintaining full documentation for relevant systems
  • Monitoring, analysing and reporting system performance
  • Contributing to the improvement of operations, policies and procedures
  • Creating documentation for team knowledge and training purposes

Ideally, you will have a friendly personality with a willingness to help colleagues by problem solving and going the extra mile to do so.  You will be organised and be able to prioritise tasks.  You will have demonstratable experience in maintaining documentation.  You will be motivated to learn on the job and take a proactive approach in your own development.  You will have strong written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate IT issues to non-technical language colleagues.

Education, Knowledge and Work Experience Specification

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science or any other relevant field
  • Minimum of 1 years IT helpdesk admin experience essential
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Office 365
  • High-level standard of written and verbal English is essential
